This is a true gem of a song..or 'pearl' is a bit more appropriate as I said in the liner notes...haha. Written By Sylvie Fricker (Tyson), of Ian & Sylvia folk duo fame? They wrote "Four Strong Winds", "Someday Soon"...which is also one of my all time song loves...and "River Road by Crystal Gayle as I discovered, written by Sylvia. I always loved that song as well and Crystal Gayle too..but I was knocked out when I heard that she wrote Yesterday's Dreams. I knew it from my mother singing it for years and she learned it from Nana Mouskouri who did an absolutely breathtaking version which I wish I could have stolen some of the arrangement parts..but I am still very pleased to have one of my true personal faves on this CD. This was supposed to be a sleeper tune and I may only be able to keep it on for a night or so but that's ok...It's for you Debbie.

The lyrics are simple and elegant and the melody is just beautiful. It's always been one of my favourites and by a very special request...I am queuing this song up in memory of a very very dear friend of mine I lost some years back..Debbie Moore. AS a request from her sister Mandy who misses her very much. She asked me tonight for a special song and there is just nothing on the album more fitting then this and I'm going to be crying like a fool when it plays...but anything for my Deb..Miss you angel! :(
